My sister-in-law is an incredible pastry chef and made these adorable cupcakes for the soccer themed party! Aren't they too cute to eat!! Well maybe just one.. they are delish.. better than Sprinkles cupcakes... seriously.
My friend Leanne did the names on the party favors (she owns a lettering business called Stripes & D-Signs.. I sure am lucky to know such talented people!)...I got the water bottles at the dollar store and had each kids name put on them, then we filled them with a little bouncy soccer ball, candy, a whistle, soccer "tattoos", a wrist band with a soccer ball sewn on it, and a thank you note I printed on scrapbooking paper (Also to let parents know the water bottles were not dishwasher safe).
The kids had a blast running around playing games on an indoor soccer field, especially since it is freezing here! The place we had the party at, Just For Kicks, was AWESOME! My son plays on a little "team" there and they also host birthday parties. So if you are in the Chicagoland area I HIGHLY recommend having a party here, the staff there are amazing, and went above and beyond to make the party extra special, the kids and parents are still talking about how much fun it was!

A couple days later, on his actual birthday (which he shares with his Dad too!) I did a little decorating around the house...
The chalkboard wall greets you as you come in the front door..
(although the hubs obviously isn't 4, his age at least starts with a 4, and he loves soccer too...this worked well for me this year!)
(BAD writing I know, but it was a last minute idea, and the little birthday boy can't read yet... and the big birthday boy can't complain, his handwriting is so small you would be squinting right now)

I thought the soccer balls added into the current mantel decor was perfect, my son not so much...he thought they were staying up there for good and he wouldn't be able to play with them again! Daddy quickly reassured him nothing stays in the same spot for long around here ;)

Jen The cupcakes looked so good.I'm glad he had
